'Human Libraries' have popped up all around the world, from Denmark (where it began) to Ireland and America, and now it's Adelaide's turn to experience the beauty of this connective program!
True Ability are utilising the safe space of Adelaide City Libraries to bring curious audiences a series of intimate interactions, which create understanding and empathy, alongside promoting human rights, inclusion and diversity.
We've have put our fascinating own theatrical twist on the 'Human Library' concept. This creates a bespoke performative conversation where each performer becomes a “Breathing Book” and each audience member becomes a “Life Listener” by choosing from a narrative menu of personal stories.
Every story in Lifebrary was written and created by each member of the True Ability ensemble with dramaturgy by Kelly Vincent and direction by Alirio Zavarce.
